Spending the holiday cheers in a foreign land could be tricky sometimes, of course, you have to learn about their culture, their norms and especially their traditions. But letting go of the ship to sail on another country is extremely exciting and what better way to start the year by being into a foreign land with the family or with friends- that is, if your pocket permits.
You might be tired of writing Japan, Paris and USA on your places to visit list. Why not try our suggested six destinations that are not so famous, but are worthy of your footsteps and penny this New Year.
Essaouira in Russia
You heard of Marrakech in Morocco, right? This place is quite, almost nearly situated there. Maze-like streets of Essaouira, a charming and vibrant port and resort town on the Atlantic Ocean will welcome you when you hit the place. You can stroll the beaches of Cape Sim and Sifdi Kaouki which is also a good surfing spot. And again, this place is just a bus away from Marrakech so pay a visit if you happen to put the great Marrakech on your list.
Namibia in Africa
You’ve fallen in love with the Mad Max setting, right? If you do and we know you really do. You are up for a treat here in Namibia. Unlike any other areas in Africa, Namibia is something of a pioneer in conservation, that is why their wildlife population is still diverse. They also have preserved their rich culture, so if you want to experience the place in full throttle, you’re lucky.
Deserts occupy much of the country; their dunes take on shapes and colors according to the elements. The country also boasts game-rich grasslands and a semi-arid Central Plateau.
They also has this scenic visage of Epupa Falls. Isn’t it lovely?
Porto in Potugal
located in the Northwest of Portugal known for its bridges and Port wine production. This place was listed as a UNESCO world heritage in 1996 and is a picturesque mish-mash of medieval churches, cobbled lanes, pretty squares, steep stairs and beautiful buildings, treading down the river. Now if you love capturing and bragging scenic square over at Instagram, you must love Porto.
Sri Lanka in Asia
Couldn’t get enough of golden beaches? Sri Lanka is one of the countries in Asia that are least explored, they have preserved the beauty of their beaches and a lush of luxury resorts are now springing up this place for the travelers to enjoy.
Iceland in Europe
Iceland is an untouched beauty nested in Europe, many tourists are aiming to visit this place because of it’s lush scenery and lovely Aurora Borealis. It is a Nordic island nation and is defined by dramatic volcanic landscapes of geysers, falls and hot springs.
Machu Picchu in Peru
For some visitors, this is the highlight of their South American expedition. Machu Picchu is best-known for its archaeological site on the continent. Built in the 15th century and later abandoned, it’s renowned for its sophisticated dry-stone walls that fuse huge blocks without the use of mortar, intriguing buildings that play on astronomical alignments, and panoramic views. Its exact former use remains a mystery.
