Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is an amazingly entertaining and energetically captivating show that will give you a fantasmagorical time and will leave you breathlessly happy on the edge of your seat!

The 2-hour production was presented by Resorts World Manila and Ultimate Shows Inc. featuring Ian Fleming’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the first time in the country.

Thirty-four years after its movie was released in 1968, the English musical was first staged at the London Palladium in 2002 and became its longest-running show ever with a three and a half year run.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is led by an all-Filipino cast with Gian Magdangal taking in the role as an eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, while actress Yanah Laurel plays his love interest Truly Scrumptious.

“I was very excited when I got the part. I’m really a fan of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and it was a big part of my childhood.” shared Laurel. “It will appeal to Filipino audiences because it’s a spectacle of a show, the music is beautiful, and for those who are unfamiliar, it’s going to be an exciting treat for them because every single number is a production number,’ added the two-time Aliw Awards Best Actress in a Musical nominee.

Adding fun and youthfulness in the bunch are The Potts children played by Noel Comia who alternates with Albert Silos as well as Isabeli Araneta-Elizalde who alternate with Zoey Alvarade.

A family-oriented theatrical ensemble wouldn’t be complete without a comic relief which was successfully brought in by the characters of the Vulgarian duo, Boris and Goran, the Baroness and Baron Bomburst who were played by Mako Alonso, Reb Atadero, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Raymund Concepcion, respectively.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is directed by Jaime Del Mundo, with musical scoring from Manila P[hilharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Rodel Colmenar.

The play will run until November 12, 2017, at the Newport performing arts Theater in Resorts World Manila. Be ready for some serious Last Song Syndrome and a beat-thumping treat from the whole cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
