Twelve days after New Year and we know that it ain’t too late for you to list down your resolutions, men and ladies alike are guilty of doing it, and this time we are solely talking to you Gents. Save some slack and bullets for your grooming regimen aside from your guilty pleasure of collecting shoes. After all, what better way to welcome the year with a new regimen to keep you dashing as ever.
If you’ve been very busy to care about your regimen last year, now is the time to pay attention.
Wash your face
Sorry to break it but that bath soap you’re using to wash your face is not enough. Actually, is wrong! Did you know that it can damage skin and has the tendency to make it dry and flakier?
Best way to clean your face is by using a foamy facial wash that suits your skin type. Now we do not write this article to promote a specific brand. But you must take responsibility in knowing what product works best for you. Do this twice a day, in the morning and at night, before drying your face with a clean towel and moisturizing.
Use your hands in cleaning your face
Obviously, you have to use them, right? But what we’re trying to say here, is that, you need to use them instead of your, so called, trusty wash cloth. Why? These cloth can cause germs to breed in it, even if you rinse it.
Moisturize your face
Don’t think that only metrosexuals are doing this chore. Trash that, if you want your skin to be smooth, supple and healthy, you have to start doing it. To properly do it, pat dry face after washing, then use a fingertip-sized dollop and dot around your face and neck before rubbing it gently and thoroughly.
Know your moisturizer
Find the perfect match for your skin type, for sensitive skin types, kindly avoid irritants like alcohol, fragrances and colors, while oilier skin types can benefit from an ingredient called salicylic acid. Also, some men are now growing their liking towards the use of collagen induced creams that are proven to be effective.
Pay attention to your body parts
Moisturize your knees, calves and elbows. You doesn’t want others to see it flaking or dry that it seem like chalked. They have fewer oil glands, thus they need some helping. Applying lotion with Vitamin E.
Stop Soaking Up The Sun
Gone are the days when sun rays are safe for your skin! Soaking under the sun is not healthy especially from 10am onwards! Not only you’ll get higher risk of skin cancer and heat stroke but it also ages your skin faster.
Since we mentioned that you have to use lotion to moisturize, might as well use a combo agent that has an SPF to protect you from the harmful rays if you cannot avoid to be under the glory of Eros.
Your pearly whites need your attention, too. Brushing is good, but flossing is essential. It removes food and plaque trapped between teeth where your brush simply cant reach.
Care For Your Facial Hair
We couldn’t stress enough here that you also need to take care of your facial hair. Trim it every week and you must wash it every day. Of course using your facial wash, you also need to do some scrubbing (facial scrub) twice weekly over your entire growth area to remove dead cells and flakes of skin and release ingrown hairs.
Prefer a clean shave? Then start shaving with, rather than against, the grain. Although shaving against the grain might seem like it makes perfect sense when looking to achieve the smoothest possible finish, it actually roughly pulls the hair up and away from the face, resulting in the increased likelihood of nicks and ingrown hairs. Not a good look.
Grooming down south
Yup, they also need some trimming and not so intense scrubbing, you know germs can hide if you have too much down there. Nuff said
