What will you get if you marry a sportswear institution and a high-fashion brand?
This season, high fashion and sportswear collide with the sensational arrival of the Puma x McQ collection. Drawing inspiration from extreme sports and protective structures, technical executions from Puma’s 90s running archive are elevated with premium leather and mixed textures then framed by reflective and iridescent accents – elements that reflect McQ’s predilection for the avant garde. The result is a retro-futuristic look that speaks sports and is equally fluent in high fashion as translated into two design variations – the Puma x McQ Disc and the Puma x McQ Lace Up.
When the Puma Disc debuted with its laceless design and adaptive fit system, the model seduced athletes and amateurs with every comfort-enhancing click. Banking on all this superior features, McQ reissues the iconic design silhouette in sleek monochromatic style, appointed with contemporary anti-wrinkle materials, sprayed Trinomic tooling, and a touch of iridescence over the heel.
On the other hand, the Puma x McQ Lace Up takes inspiration from extreme sports and protective outerwear. Utilizing technical executions from Puma’s 90s running catalogue like the trinomic cushioned sole unit, the model, which comes in two colorways, is finished with a partially concealed front lace up system and a neoprene co-branded tongue.
Gone are the days when sneakers were reduced the lower ends of the sartorial pyramid. With the Puma x McQ Collection, all previous notions about rubber-soled footwear are single-handedly deflected.
