KARL LAGERFELD DIES AT THE AGE OF 85

It is indeed a sad day for the fashion industry. Iconic fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld dies at the age of 85.

Karl Lagerfeld is best known for his work as the artistic director of the luxury fashion houses Chanel and Fendi. Lagerfeld also designed collections for his own brand and collaborated with high street brand H&M.

Lagerfeld was also very recognizable recognizable for his white pony tail and dark suits and glasses, and in 2000 he slimmed down his look, losing 93 pounds, and writing a best-selling book about his diet.

According to a report published by WWD, Lagerfeld died on Tuesday morning at the American Hospital of Paris, Neuilly-sur-Seine, where he had been admitted the night before. No details have been given yet on how he died.

Lagerfeld began his career in fashion in 1955 as an assistant to Pierre Balmain. He joined Chanel in 1983 and spent 36 years at the helm of the iconic French fashion house.
