Queen Bey just joined the growing roster of celebrities just like Rihanna and Lady Gaga, who donated to help fight the further spread of the coronavirus.
Beyonce just donated $6 million worth of funds for COVID-19 relief. Through her charitable initiative, BeyGOOD, the pop songstress teamed up with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s #Startsmall to aid organizations that provide mental wellness services.
“In our major cities, African-Americans comprise a disproportionate number of workers in these indispensable occupations, and they will need mental health support and personal wellness care, including testing and medical services, food supplies and food deliveries, both during and after the crisis,” read a statement released by Beyoncé’s representatives.
The recipients include health facilities supported by UCLA, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the United Memorial Medical Center, Bread of Life, Mathew 25, and more. Bey, however, is focusing on communities in metropolises that have been especially hit hard.
