Margot Robbie and “Birds Of Prey” Christina Hodson teams up once again for a female-centric “Pirates Of The Caribbean” movie for Disney.

The project will coincide with another Pirates spin-off that is being developed by Ted Elliot and Last of Us helmer Craig Mazin. According to Hollywood Reporter, the movie is not intended to be a spin-off of the popular franchise that had Captain Jack Sparrow as the lead. This will be a female-fronted movie with a new plot and new characters in it, inspired by the long-running attraction at Disneyland.

Robbie and Hodson’s partnership blossomed when they collaborated on “Birds Of Prey”, and they recently launched the Lucky Exports Program, a new initiative that aims to bring the aspiring writers the exposure and experience they need in order to bag studio or franchise writing jobs.
