Department Of tourism just released a video honoring our frontliners, especially during this difficult time of COVID-19 Pandemic.
The video features With A Smile, originally performed by the Eraserheads, as the background music for the material, and was given life with the vocals of Bea Lorenzo whose grandfather and father are medical doctors.
Far different from the usual DOT videos where it features scenic spots in the Philippines, the material directed by Joel Limchoc, shows a montage of empty streets of Metro Manila and a long queue of people behind the checkpoint lines. The video also shows clips of health Filipino health workers, grocery clerks, delivery personnel and other frontliners who bravely battles the threat of COVID-19.
In a post, DOT said that Filipinos are known for their smiles despite the challenges, and these smiles simply emulate the warmth that can be felt even behind those masks. “As we wait out the end of this challenging time, let us never forget to show the world who we truly are: A nation of a kind, caring, and compassionate people. #WeHealAsOne” the post added.
The video ended with a message of positivity that says “nothing can take away our Smile”. It only shows how Filipinos are really resilient and there’s no problem or challenges that a Filipino heart can weather
