Just when we thought our days ended with “The Devil Wears Prada”, Lauren Weisberger has just dropped a huge bomb on us. “The Devil Wears Prada” is getting a sequel after all and no, Miranda Priestly is not at the center of it all.
If you can recall, “The Devil Wears Prada” revolves around Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as she dealt with the daily struggles she endured becoming a Slave—Oops, I meant assistant to Miranda Priestly. Andrea spends her days along side Emily Charlton—the snooty, eye-piercing ex-assistant of Miranda. If you’ve watched the movie, you might have developed a love-hate relationship with Emily. I clearly did and I always wondered what happened to her after the movie. Low and Behold, Lauren Weisberger was thinking the exact same thing.
The sequel, “When Life Gives You LuLulemons”, focuses on the life and struggles of Emily who is now a high-profile celebrity “image consultant” who lands quite a huge major opportunity in Greenwich, Connecticut; Our New York City girl is moving to the Suburbs; Wonder if she can take it.
It opens with Emily at a rambunctious New Year’s Eve party in Los Angeles, which, according to her, is “one of the most annoying nights of the year in arguably the most annoying city known to man”. But, how could it be when she is with her husband,’ Gorgeous-body’, Miles and partying in Gigi Hadid’s House?!—Yes, THAT Gigi Hadid.
Curious what happens next? Entertainment Weekly just released the first chapter of the book and we honestly can’t wait for what’s in store. “When Life Gives You LuLulemons” will be released on June 2018—15 years after “The Devil Wears Prada”.
