MULAN IS GOING ITS ONLINE PREMIERE ON SEPTEMBER THROUGH DISNEY PLUS

After its release postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney’s much-anticipated live-action Mulan has an official release date set for September 4. It may not be in theaters, though.  Disney announced that they’ll be releasing the blockbuster on its newly improved streaming platform service, Disney Plus.

“We thought it was important to find alternative ways to bring this exceptional family-friendly film to them in a timely manner,” says Disney Bob Chapek.

Sadly, Disney Plus is not yet available in the Philippines, but Chapek added that “Mulan” will be released simultaneously in theaters in markets where Disney+ is not available and, of course, where theaters are open.

Disney’s release of “Mulan” on its streaming service for an additional cost is yet another disruption to the movie theater industry.

The 1998 remake stars Liu Yifei as the titular heroine. Meanwhile, joining her are Donnie Yen, Gong Li, and Jet Li as the Emperor of China. Check out the trailer below as a feel-good refresher.
