COP OR DROP: LGBTQIA+ INSPIRED SNEAKS THIS PRIDE MONTH

Pride Month has officially begun and in time for this month’s celebration, several brands all over the world have released their Pride-inspired shoes that will serve as reminders that the fight for tolerance, diversity and equality is ongoing.
Celebrating along with the LGBTQIA+ community, each design features the rainbow flag or colors that shouts of this month’s Pride celebration. Let’s take a look at some of the most festive sneakers available on the market. These fun kicks come complete with bright colors and bold stripes.
DR. MARTENS
Dr. Martens released their Pride doused footwear complete with Pride flag colors carried through to the laces, heel-loop and other small details. The back strap finishes off the eye-catching look with “Pride” emblazoned down the material.
ADIDAS
As part of its Pride pack, the Three Stripes is launching four rainbow-accented styles seen on the Ultra Boost 19, Continental 80, Adilette slide and Adidas Originals Ozweego.
KENNETH COLE
For June, the lifestyle label released its third limited-edition Pride capsule collection. The styles include the minimalist low-top Kam sneaker with a simple rainbow stripe, the chunky Bailey jogger sneaker and sandal slides.
TEVA
Teva collaborated with musical duo Tegan and Sara on a limited-edition sandal for Pride month. The Flatform Universal Pride model features a rainbow-splashed 2.5-inch seven-layer EVA platform that enhances conditions for comfort.
REEBOK
The sportswear brand replaced its Reebok flag with the LGBTQ Pride flag, along with rainbow stitching, in updates to its Club C, Classic Leather and Freestyle Hi silhouettes.
NIKE
For Pride month, Nike is offering a “Be True” collection that pays homage to political activist and Pride flag designer Gilbert Baker. The collection includes four kicks: the Air Max 90, Air Max 720, Air Tailwind and Zoom Pegasus Turbo, each decorated with colors of the Pride flag.
The Philippines celebrates Pride Month, which culminates in the Metro Manila Pride March – considered the oldest and largest pride march in the country and the region. This year’s Metro Manila Pride March will be held on June 29 in Marikina.
