MOBILE APP TIKTOK REACHES 6.90M DOWNLOADS IN A DAY FROM THE PHILIPPINES

Report made by Tiktok, there are a total of 6.90 million new accounts created during the second day of Community Quarantine due to COVID-19, from the Philippines, alone!
TikTok is a mobile application for short-form mobile video that produces 15-seconder material. The app has pushed people to make content that is easy to remember and fun to replicate with options for duets, video stitching, AR games, filters, hand recognition, lip-synch and dances. Since its launch, in September 2006 the brand catapulted its user base and hasn’t slowed down a bit.
Celebrities, Athletes and social media personalities here and abroad have successfully hopped inside the Tiktok train and have shared their contents not only on the Tiktok platform but also on Instagram and Youtube. Among the local celebrities are Raymond Gutierrez, Heart Evangelista, and Vice Ganda to name a few.
With short-form content rising in demand. people and brands alike saw the value of leveraging to this application may it be for entertainment or marketing; and with enhanced Community Quarantine in the whole of Luzon, it is inevitable for Filipinos to find a diversion while staying at home.
Recently, Tiktok partnered with iflix to bring short-form videos from a variety of categories to audiences in 13 countries across Asia. The brand also teamed up with Department of Tourism to promote local destinations and to boost tourism in the country.
