Being stuck at home during the quarantine has made people do things they never imagined they would. By staying home, they have discovered and perfected skills that turned them into a chef, baker, plant parent, and more. But aside from these discoveries, they have found out that they could also be their own barista with the perfect cup of coffee made at the touch of a button.
To help more people level up their coffee-making skills at home, Nespresso held the Be Your Own Barista campaign, which aims to inspire coffee lovers to easily create and indulge in cafe-quality coffees made using just a touch of a button.
The very first virtual Cafe aims to inspire coffee lovers to indulge in Nespresso moments through easy café-quality coffee. The event was hosted by Chico Garcia along with other at-home baristas, such as entrepreneur, Nico Bolzico, co-founder of Sunnies Studios, Bea Soriano-Dee, and private dining chef and restaurateur, Happy Ongpauco-Tiu.
Whether enjoying alone time or creating new memories to cherish with the family, each day is something anyone can look forward to with the perfect cup of coffee. Nico Bolzico shared, “I get a sort of peace,” when inserting coffee capsules into his Nespresso machine and hearing the sound it creates while looking after his daughter Thylane.
Slow living is what Sunnies Studios co-founder Bea Soriano-Dee enjoys these days “I get to enjoy the morning, sit down in a quiet place, and focus on what my day would be like,” says Bea. And during the virtual cafe gathering, she whipped a macchiato with Ispirazione Arpeggio Firenze and a touch of cinnamon through the Nespresso Lattissima Touch.
Happy Ongpauco-Tiu, who takes care of her family and businesses, gets a much-needed energy boost from her Nespresso coffee, and shares “In the morning, I need my coffee right away just to wake me up”, Happy also showed how she prepares her coffee concoction by combining Vanilla Éclair and Caramel Creme Brulee with her Nespresso Pixie while adding sugar, chocolate powder, and whipped cream.
Despite the challenge of getting barista-style coffee from coffee shops during the quarantine, Nespresso has solved cafe-quality coffee cravings at a touch of a button. This makes each day more enjoyable for Bea who loves to read books, Chico who spends time with his three cats and five dogs, Happy who enjoys special bonding moments with her family, and Nico who surrounds himself with plants and meditates—all while enjoying their favorite cup.
The first-ever Nespresso At-Home Virtual Cafe won’t be complete without guests showing how to craft and personalize their perfect cup of coffee. Nico
