Just like any major gatherings, the Philippines ‘ beauty pageant industry is also affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Last Monday, May 25, Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) announced that they are postponing its 2020 edition of the national pageant indefinitely amidst community quarantine protocols.
In a statement shared on its Facebook Fan Page, the pageant institution said that BPCI recognizes the pressing and urgent need to protect the health and safety of the candidates, their families and friends, all the passionate pageant supporters, and the general public. Hence, they have decided to indefinitely postpone the Binibining Pilipinas 2020 Pageant.
“Our plans to reschedule the pageant activities shall depend on guidelines and regulations that will be issued by the government in the coming months,” the institution added.
The Bb. Pilipinas 2020 was supposed to be held on May 31, after being moved from its original April date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
