The season 21 premiere of NBC’s The Voice just wrapped up and the flag of three Stars and a Sun has waved and landed the perimeter of Team Ariana.
Born in the Philippines, Vaughn Mugol migrated to the United States at the age of 12. Now a registered nurse at Beaumont, Texas, Vaughn successfully turned three chairs during his Blind Auditions at The Voice where he performed Ed Sheeran’s “The A-Team.” wowing coaches John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Ariana Grande.
The soulful artist told the judges that it was his first time joining a singing competition, which shocked the judges given his performance and the stage presence that he showed. “This is actually new to me. I’m a registered nurse, so I usually just sing to my patients,” he said.
John Legend complimented Vaughn and wooed the talent to join his team saying, “I feel like I have the right experience on this show helping artists to pick songs and helping them prepare for these moments.”
Which Kelly added, praising Vaughn’s technique in performing. “The precision of you like not losing breath and going off-pitch, that takes a lot more technique. You’re an emotional singer and that’s all I am – emotion,” she said.
Lastly, though a new joiner in this season, Coach Ariana didn’t settle for less and mean a mean business when she told Mugol to join her team, saying that she believed she could help him win, despite having no previous experience as a coach. “I love the little break in your voice and I love the fuller parts of your voice,” Ariana Grande added in one of her comments.
In the end, Vaughn has chosen the Grammy Award-winning coach, Ariana, and has decided to join her team.
The Fil-Am talent has yet to conquer a bigger arena as he starts his journey with Team Ariana in this all-new season of The Voice and we’re excited to see what’s next for Vaughn Mugol.
