It is always thrilling and proud to know that a Filipino artist is making their own name abroad. It excites us and surely induces our patriotic pride. Now, how about this for a news?
Cameron Mackintosh just confirmed that the all time favorite and one of the legendary musical Les Miserables, is hitting our shores this March 2016! You read it right, the Asian leg of the tour will grace our land and will let the Filipino audiences be thrilled by the much-loved Theatrical show in Solaire. How’s that for good news, huh?
Not only that, GMA Kapuso Artist, Rachelle Ann Go, will portray the infamous role of Fantine. The role who was onced nailed by Anne Hathaway in the motion picture of the same title. The girl has been on rounds abroad relentlessly arresting and collecting all the oohs and ahhs of the crowd with her brilliant acting and we are damn sure that she’ll collect stars in her homeland, too.
Les Miserables, follows the story of Jean Valjean, a convict who escapes from prison, where he was incarcerated for 19 years after stealing a loaf of bread and a number of escape attempts Les Mis is set in volatile times in 19th century France, where the divide between rich and poor is keenly felt and sentiments championing social justice are growing.
Yes, we cannot contain the excitement! But for now, let’s see Rachel Anne’s performance of “I Dream a Dream” after the jump below.
