NEW KOREAN SERIES “IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY” TOPS THE RATING FOR ITS SEASON PREMIERE

Last June 20, tvN’s new romance drama “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” premiered to a promising start.

According to Nielsen Korea, the series which stars  Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji garnered an average nationwide rating of 6.1% and a peak of 7%, snatching first place in its time slot across all cable channels.

The show also took the first place in its time slot across all channels, including public broadcast networks. The new drama performed particularly well with female viewers in their forties, among whom it scored an impressive peak rating of 10.6 percent for its premiere.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay is set to be Soo Hyun’s first major role on the silver screen after being discharged from the military. The story follows Moon Kang Tae (played by Soo Hyun), a community health worker at a psychiatric ward who prefers to keep to himself. He eventually crosses paths with Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji) a successful children’s storybook writer suffering from an antisocial personality disorder. To add to this constant hurdle, she also knows nothing about love. Throughout the course of the series, they help each other heal from their respective emotional wounds.
